The real estate business is a good one to be in. Most of the time. I’ve been licensed for over 40 years. (And only practice law now…) In that time, I’ve seen a real estate ‘cycle’ or two. And, sure as green grass follows a rainstorm, licensee numbers increase when the market is ‘good.’
One way to know if we’re in recovery on valuation, is to see how many “active” agents there are – per “active” broker – in California. The number, historically, hovers at 1.5. In the most recent (2006) peak, there were 2.7.
